Leaving a gift in your Will is an important way to make a huge difference to your local community for generations to come.  When you leave a gift in your Will we ensure your gift stays local and supports the causes you care about most.


Your gift to the community

The Geyser Community Foundation welcomes gifts of all sizes.


• Leave a gift in your Will of $25,000 or more to set up your own Named Fund.  You choose the name of your fund and causes you want to benefit.  The Geyser Community Foundation will ensure grants are awarded according to your wishes forever. 

• Leave a gift of any size to our Geyser Fund.  This Fund responds to the changing needs of our communities over time.

• Leave a gift in your will to support an existing Named Fund at the Geyser Community Foundation.


There are several ways to leave a gift in your Will to the Geyser Community Foundation:


• A Residuary Legacy - is the remaining value of an estate when all other bequests to family and friends have been made. 

• A Pecuniary Legacy - is a fixed amount or item specified in a Will.

• A Percentage of your Estate - specify a gift of a percentage of the value of your estate.

• A Reversionary Legacy - allows a surviving beneficiary to benefit from the estate during his or her lifetime and then for the balance of the estate to be passed to the Geyser Community Foundation.

Making a distribution from your Family Trust

If your assets are primarily held in a family trust you may like to leave instructions for your trustees to make a gift through the trust rather than provide for it in your Will.  Your trust may already provide for charities as potential beneficiaries, or you may want to talk to your solicitor to ensure charitable giving is enabled by your trust.
