Working With Charitable Trusts and Maori Organisations |
|
The Geyser Community Foundation works closely with other charitable trusts and Maori organisations in the Rotorua District. We are keen to support trustees and administrators in fulfilling their role.
Occasionally, existing trusts need help because
• The original charitable objectives have been fulfilled
• Administration has become too time consuming
• Trustees wish to retire
• They need the security of independent investment and management.
When this happens, we may be able to assist by assuming management of long established charitable trusts that benefit the Rotorua District.
Our Service
We manage existing Charitable Trusts and organisations by recreating them as Named Funds within the Geyser Community Foundation. We:
• Set up a Named Fund, usually with the same name as the former Charitable Trust
• Amend or retain the charitable objects of the Trust for grant making
• Involve one or more former Trustees as advisors to the new Named Fund.
The public face of the Trust carries on as before but without the additional work caused by separate investment, administration and reporting.
